Reason: Time and time again, Kobe has somehow found away to make plays when it matters most. He does it better than anyone in the NBA. His Lakers have been to three consecutive NBA Finals, seven over the course of his career and he has always been one of the most outstanding players. But what makes Kobe the best player in the NBA right now is that he always gets "it" done. Even though the Lakers don't always dominate the rest of the NBA and everyone wonders if the Lakers championship window is closing, they get right back on track and seem to always be there when it matters. Until they loose this year, Kobe Bryant still gets it done better than anyone in the NBA.
2 Dwyane Wade, SG Miami Heat
Reason: When healthy, Wade has got it done in the NBA even without a ton of talent around him. Wade makes some of the most exciting plays in some of the most crucial moments and unlike his partner LeBron James, he has gotten it done in the playoffs.
3 LeBron James, SF Miami Heat
Reason: Well LeBron surely gets it done in the regular season, but playoffs is an entirely different story. Until then, he is the third best player in the NBA. If he were to come up big in the postseason, even with the talent around him in Miami, LeBron is the best player in the NBA.
Reason: Durant has consistently been a dynamic scorer every year of his career. He also hasn't had a ton of talent around him until Russell Westbrook emerged. Durant is consistently outstanding, and he is just starting to emerge as a legitimate postseason performer.
5 Derrick Rose, PG Chicago Bulls
Reason: Rose is this generations Allen Iverson which I don't really like, but I give Rose credit because he makes so many big plays offensively and defensively, shooting and passing. If Derrick Rose were to lead the Bulls to the NBA Finals or even win the championship, Rose then might be considered the best player in the NBA.
6 Carmelo Anthony, SF New York Knicks
Reason: Carmelo has made shots throughout his career whether it would be the regular or postseason. Yes, Carmelo's disappointing exit with the Knicks knocks his status down, but Carmelo still will get it done in New York.
7 Tim Duncan, PF San Antonio Spurs
Reason: Duncan has quietly got it done for his whole career, including this past season with the Spurs where they won the West by 5 games. He didn't get it done against the Grizzlies, but you can not deny that Tim Duncan still may be the most consistent super star in the NBA.
8 Paul Pierce, SF Boston Celtics
Reason: Pierce has been one of the NBA's best postseason performers of the past three seasons. He has consistently knocked down shot after shot and has defended the likes of Kobe Bryant and LeBron James in winner take all games, so I would say that Paul Pierce certainly gets it done as he has elevated himself to super star status over the past couple of seasons.
9 Amare Stoudemire, PF New York Knicks
Reason: Stoudemire has got it done in the East and Western Conference. He can score from anywhere inside the perimeter, which is rare for a big man of his stature. He led the Knicks to a resurgence this past season, and with the combination of him and Carmelo Anthony, the Knicks should be a favorite to win over the next few seasons.
10 Kevin Love, PF Minnesota Timberwolves
Reason: 49 Straight games with over 10 rebounds and a season average of 15.2 boards per game on a miserable Timberwolves team. If you put some talent around Kevin Love, he is recognized as one of the game's super-stars, so right now I am going to credit him with being a guy who gets it done better than most in the NBA.
11 Chris Paul, PG New Orleans Hornets
12 Dirk Nowitzki, PF Dallas Mavericks
13 Dwight Howard, C Orlando Magic
14 Blake Griffin, PF Los Angeles Clippers
15 Joe Johnson, SG Atlanta Hawks
16 Manu Ginobili, SG San Antonio Spurs
17 Rajon Rondo, PG Boston Celtics
18 Ray Allen, SG Boston Celtics
19 Deron Williams, PG New Jersey Nets
20 Russell Westbrook, PG Oklahoma City Thunder
21 LaMarcus Aldridge, C Portland Trail Blazers
22 Zach Randolph, PF Memphis Grizzlies
23 Steve Nash, PG Phoenix Suns
24 Danny Granger, SF Indiana Pacers
25 Chris Bosh, PF Miami Heat
