College Football is Officially OUT OF WHACK

College football and college sports in general with the exception of college hockey is really starting to piss me off now. Besides all of the dishonesty and scandalous activity going on at these universities, college football just can't seem to be doing anything right. The first thing I'll talk about is the BCS. I actually don't mind the LSU-Alabama rematch at all. These are the two best teams in college football. Oklahoma State is very good, but they wouldn't give LSU nearly the run for their money as Alabama can and will. OK State lost to Iowa State, they nearly lost at home to Kansas State and they do not have a good offense. If Oklahoma State had taken care of business in Ames, Iowa, we wouldn't even be having this discussion right now. But anyway, that is not the problem I have with this years BCS. Take a look at this Michigan-Virginia Tech Sugar Bowl. Michigan is a good two loss team who didn't win their conference. Virginia Tech is a two loss ACC team who just got drilled by Clemson in the ACC Championship. Virginia Tech is garbage! They didn't win their conference and they haven't beaten anyone of note all season. And yet, Boise State, Kansas State, Baylor, TCU, etc. are left out of the picture? It's ridiculous. I don't mind Michigan being in the Sugar Bowl, but even there you can make the argument that these teams I listed are much better. And then also, the BCS just has to do without the automatic bids for the Big East. It just doesn't make for exciting football.
And speaking of the Big East, they recently admitted Boise State, San Diego State, Houston and a couple other schools not worth mentioning. Let's think about this. This is the Big East, a conference that has teams located in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, etc. Now you're going to add teams from California, Idaho and Texas? What??? First of all, you have to rename the conference. Second of all, these are college kids. That is way too much traveling on a regular basis. I thought these kids had to do some school work at the very least? I guess not, the kids in the Big East will be too busy going from Idaho back to New York to Ohio to Florida and back to California. It just doesn't make any sense. I am disgusted with the fraud and repulsiveness in college football. It is driving me further and further away from the sport.
