James Laurinaitis |
19 Paul Poslunszky, Jacksonville Jaguars
18 Derrick Johnson, Kansas City Chiefs
17 Gary Brackett, Indianapolis Colts
16 Stewart Bradley, Philadelphia Eagles
15 James Farrior, Pittsburgh Steelers
14 James Laurinaitis, St. Louis Rams
13 E.J. Henderson, Minnesota Vikings
12 DeMeco Ryans, Houston Texans
11 David Harris, New York Jets
In this grouping of guys inside the top 10, you have your young up and comers like James Laurinaitis and DeMeco Ryans as well as your aging veterans like Gary Brackett. Laurinaitis really could break out this year because he plays a big role on the St. Louis defense. I also like Derrick Johnson of the Chiefs a lot; he is capable of racking up a good amount of sacks at his position.
Bart Scott |
Top 10
10 Karlos Dansby, Miami Dolphins
9 Jonathan Vilma, New Orleans Saints
8 London Fletcher, Washington Redskins
7 Bart Scott, New York Jets
6 Lawrence Timmons, Pittsburgh Steelers
All of these guys are the glue to their teams defense. They hold things down in the run and pass game. They consistently are making plays anywhere on the field.
Top 5
Patrick Willis |
4 Jerod Mayo, New England Patriots
3 Brian Urlacher, Chicago Bears
2 Ray Lewis, Baltimore Ravens
1 Patrick Willis, San Francisco 49ers
The guys in the top five are pro bowl caliber players. Patrick Willis is clearly the best among these guys because he racks up double digit tackle totals each game along with making those outstanding plays that shift momentum. Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher make those kind of plays too, but Willis is the all around more versatile player.
